Requirement for QHSE Superintendent (Tankers Background)
JOB DESCRIPTION:

We are seeking a qualified QHSE Superintendent to join our team and oversee quality, health, safety, and environmental compliance for our tanker fleet. The ideal candidate will be a Master Mariner with proven sailing experience on Oil/Chemical/Product Tankers and have a strong understanding of international maritime regulations and best practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement, monitor, and continuously improve the company’s QHSE management systems in line with ISM, ISPS, MLC, MARPOL, SOLAS, and other statutory requirements.

  • Conduct vessel audits, inspections, and safety drills to ensure compliance and operational excellence.

  • Investigate incidents, near-misses, and non-conformities, preparing detailed reports and implementing corrective actions.

  • Promote a proactive safety culture through training, awareness campaigns, and crew engagement.

  • Liaise with classification societies, flag states, and port authorities on compliance matters.

  • Assist in preparing and reviewing safety management documentation and procedures.

  • Monitor environmental compliance and ensure adherence to pollution prevention measures.

Requirements:

  • Valid Master Mariner CoC with sailing experience on Tankers (Oil/Chemical/Product).

  • 1–3 years of shore-based experience as a Master Mariner or in a QHSE-related role.

  • Strong knowledge of tanker operations, international safety regulations, and industry standards.

  • Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to travel for vessel visits, audits, and inspections.
