Role Overview:

We are urgently looking for an experienced General Manager – Coastal Chartering to lead and oversee our coastal shipping business. The candidate will be responsible for developing chartering strategies, managing client and owner relationships, ensuring profitability, and driving the growth of coastal chartering operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage coastal chartering activities for bulk, break bulk, and project cargoes.

• Develop and implement commercial strategies to achieve growth and profitability.

• Negotiate and finalize charter party agreements with owners, operators, and charterers.

• Monitor and analyze coastal shipping markets, freight trends, and competitor activities.

• Build, mentor, and manage a high-performing chartering team.

• Ensure smooth coordination with pre-fixture, post-fixture, and operations teams.

• Maintain strong relationships with clients, ship owners, brokers, and stakeholders.

• Provide regular business reports and market insights to top management.

Key Requirements:

• 10–12 years of proven experience in Coastal Chartering with strong track record.

• In-depth understanding of Indian coastal shipping and trade dynamics.

• Strong negotiation, leadership, and client relationship management skills.

• Well-established network of ship owners, charterers, and brokers in the coastal trade.

• Excellent market analysis, decision-making, and problem-solving abilities.

• Proficiency in MS Office and chartering platforms/tools.
