Key Responsibilities:
Oversee the technical management of assigned Oil/Chemical Tankers in compliance with company SMS, industry regulations (IMO, MARPOL, SOLAS, ISM, ISPS), and flag/class requirements.
Ensure vessels are maintained in a safe, seaworthy, and cost-effective condition at all times.
Plan, monitor, and control maintenance, repairs, and dry-docking activities.
Monitor vessel performance, machinery, fuel consumption, and condition monitoring reports, and provide technical solutions for operational issues.
Coordinate with Masters and Chief Engineers to provide technical guidance and support.
Prepare and control annual budgets, monitor OPEX and CAPEX, and ensure cost optimization without compromising safety.
Arrange and follow up on surveys, audits, and inspections (flag state, port state, class, vetting).
Liaise with shipyards, workshops, classification societies, and suppliers for spares, repairs, and technical services.
Support HSE, incident investigation, and root cause analysis, promoting a strong safety culture onboard and ashore.
Ensure crew competency through feedback to crewing/manning teams.
Provide 24/7 emergency response support as per company procedures.
Qualifications & Experience:
Minimum 1 year as Technical Superintendent in a reputed shipping company.
Sailing experience: At least 1–2 years as Chief Engineer on Oil/Chemical Tankers (mandatory).
Strong knowledge of tanker operations, cargo systems, safety standards, and international maritime regulations.
Hands-on experience with planned maintenance systems, dry dock planning, and technical troubleshooting.
Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to manage multiple vessels and work under pressure.
