Location: Mumbai
Key Responsibilities:
Develop, implement, and monitor training programs for seafarers, with focus on Chemical Tanker operations.
Ensure training standards are in line with STCW, IMO, ISM Code, OCIMF, CDI, TMSA, and company SMS requirements.
Conduct pre-joining briefings, onboard familiarization sessions, and debriefings of senior officers.
Assess the competence, knowledge, and performance of officers and crew through interviews, appraisals, and feedback.
Design and deliver simulator-based training, safety drills, cargo handling workshops, and emergency response exercises.
Assist in incident investigation and case studies, ensuring lessons learned are shared across the fleet.
Support the crew management team in selecting, evaluating, and promoting seafarers.
Liaise with external training providers, maritime academies, and industry bodies for continuous improvement of training standards.
Keep updated with industry developments, new regulations, and best practices, ensuring training materials remain current.
Promote a strong safety culture, compliance, and professional development among seafarers.
Qualifications & Experience:
Minimum 1–3 years of sailing experience as Master Mariner on Chemical Tankers (mandatory).
Prior experience in training, mentoring, or conducting audits/inspections will be an advantage.
In-depth knowledge of chemical cargo handling systems, international maritime regulations, and tanker safety practices.
Strong communication, presentation, and leadership skills.
Ability to interact with seafarers of different ranks and backgrounds, motivating them towards continuous improvement.
